About Me
Hey, I'm Pranav
I’m currently studying Artificial Intelligence at Illinois Tech, with a minor in Data Science. I got into tech because I was curious about how machines learn, and now I’m building stuff that tries to answer that question in real, useful ways.
I’ve worked on all kinds of projects: mapping lead contamination across Chicago neighborhoods, extracting structured job data using transformers, building an AI tool that audits hallucinations in LLMs, and even making a sports win predictor just for fun. If it involves AI, data, or something cool to visualize; I’m probably into it.
Outside of that, I’m a Teaching Assistant for a few CS courses. Helping others learn programming has honestly made me a better coder myself, and it’s fun explaining tricky stuff in a way that actually makes sense.
These days I’m exploring new tools, chasing weird ideas, and looking for projects where I can build things that matter (and maybe learn something unexpected along the way).

82 Below – Lead Contamination Mapping
Presented at IPRO Innovation at 2025Mapped 400K+ lead lines in Chicago to uncover seasonal risk patterns and prioritize equitable replacements.
Key Features:
- Analyzed 400,000+ service line records and 5 years of lead test data from Chicago’s water system.
- Used Getis-Ord Gi* spatial statistics to detect high-risk hotspots (e.g., Englewood, Austin) and assess spatial clustering.
- Created animated rolling 90th percentile maps and temperature-linked boxplots showing seasonal peaks in contamination.
- Built a risk prioritization model combining social cost (ADI, under-5 population) and likelihood of lead exposure.
- Validated seasonal spikes using bootstrapped confidence intervals and permutation testing (p < 0.001).
- Developed a React-based public lookup tool with neighborhood-level risk estimates for community awareness.

Teaching Assistant
Guide undergrads through foundational and intermediate Java programming, lead weekly labs, host office hours, and support CS 100, CS 115 & CS 116.
AI Engineer Intern
Integrated LLMs with retrieval and tool calls to draft tickets and emails from approved sources, added guardrails with human review on low confidence, and tuned orchestration for groundedness, latency, and cost.
Machine Learning Research Assistant
Supported a research team working on early-frame detection in MRI scans using U-Net architectures. Observed model training in PyTorch and learned about segmentation workflows in medical imaging.
Software Developer Intern
Built interactive Python dashboards to surface trends in music-streaming data; designed and documented an Agile workflow for long-term maintainability.
UI/UX Designer
Designed and prototyped frontend features for an internal platform using Figma, collaborating directly with JPMC engineers. Participated in weekly Agile sprints focused on iterative UI design, implementation, and testing across cross-functional teams.
