About Me
Hey, I'm Pranav
I'm currently studying Artificial Intelligence at Illinois Tech, with a minor in Data Science. I got into tech because I was curious about how machines learn, and now I'm building stuff that tries to answer that question in real, useful ways.
I've worked on all kinds of projects: mapping lead contamination across Chicago neighborhoods, extracting structured job data using transformers, building an AI tool that audits hallucinations in LLMs, and even making a sports win predictor just for fun. If it involves AI, data, or something cool to visualize; I'm probably into it.
Outside of that, I'm a Teaching Assistant for a few CS courses. Helping others learn programming has honestly made me a better coder myself, and it's fun explaining tricky stuff in a way that actually makes sense.
These days I'm exploring new tools, chasing weird ideas, and looking for projects where I can build things that matter (and maybe learn something unexpected along the way).

vArI DriftCast (Oceans Four)
3rd Place - Grainger Computing Innovation PrizeVolunteer distributed-compute platform for ocean plastic drift forecasts; 3rd Place at Grainger Computing Innovation Prize.
Key Features:
- Orchestrates thousands of Monte Carlo trajectories across volunteer Electron clients to generate near-real-time drift probability maps.
- Streams NOAA/Copernicus ocean, wind, and wave data into a FastAPI + PostgreSQL + Redis + Celery backend with WebSockets for task routing.
- Aggregates trajectories into uncertainty heatmaps and leaderboards; monitors resource usage with pause/throttle controls on clients.
- Layered RL experiments on physics-based simulators to reduce drift error; productionized via Docker Compose with Nginx, Prometheus, and Grafana.

My professional journey that has shaped my skills and expertise in AI, machine learning, and data science.
Teaching Assistant
Mentor 90+ students in Java/OOP, lead weekly labs and office hours, and grade 200+ assignments each week with rubrics and test cases to keep feedback fast.
AI Engineer Intern
Architected a LangChain + FAISS RAG pipeline that cut manual ticket triage about 70%; built a retrieval + summarization multi-agent flow that dropped response times from ~45 to under 10 minutes and kept p95 latency under 3s with guardrails and human review on low confidence.
Machine Learning Research Assistant
Supported a research team working on early-frame detection in MRI scans using U-Net architectures. Observed model training in PyTorch and learned about segmentation workflows in medical imaging.
Software Developer Intern
Built interactive Python dashboards to surface trends in music-streaming data; designed and documented an Agile workflow for long-term maintainability.
UI/UX Designer
Selected via the P33 Chicago program; designed 10+ Figma mockups for an internal budget platform and iterated with JPMC engineers in Agile sprints using user research and stakeholder feedback.
